I was scared. We were scared. Our family, our community, our province, our world. Shelter at home orders were in place all across the globe, but during a time that could be very scary and lonely the world pulled together. I saw a few photos floating around the internet on photography pages, and they sparked my interest. Families waving at the camera from their front porch with the hashtag #frontporchproject. I quickly decided that this was a project I wanted to participate in. What better way to connect with my community, to help my community connect with one another - and most importantly to spread a little bit of joy during this crazy (or cocobananas as I say to my son) time? This is a moment in time we will never forget, and I'm so happy I was able to document the most important part of it - family, friendship, community.
With over 100 families (from Regina, Lumsden, Pilot Butte, White City and area) photographed I will be splitting images over a few blog posts! Here's the first. Enjoy!
